I refer to these flat-handled scoops as beavertail scoops. They were patented around 1905-1906. The beavertails have a unique look and provide a great space to label the model and manufacture. These were made with both round and conical bowls. I like the look of the conical bowl on this scoop. Here are nine examples of these with various names stamped into the beavertail. They are all made nearly the same, and I would guess they were all manufactured by the H. S. Geer Co. Have you seen other beavertails with different names in the handles?
